Apple Store App Gets Two-Step Authentication And Touch ID Support
Apple updated the Apple Store app for iOS to version 3.3 on May 21 offering an additional layer of security with two step authentication and touch ID support, according to reports.
The support for Touch ID will allow users to check receipts and make reservations at Apple Stores and avail the two-step authentication, reports Tech Times. The Touch ID feature that can be deployed to access the EasyPay receipts and view order history can be found in the Account section. Once the two-step verification feature gets activated, users have to feed their Apple ID password along with the four-digit authentication code the system has sent to the user’s device, says the Tech Times report.
Prior to the introduction of the new update, users had to log in their Apple ID password manually to access the in-app features and the Touch ID was restricted to make purchases through Apple Pay, reports Tech Times.
The Apple Store app is now available in few new countries such as Turkey, Brazil, Mexico, Singapore, New Zealand, Taiwan, Malaysia, Philippines, United Arab Emirates, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Austria, Ireland, Luxembourg, Norway, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Portugal, reports PhoneArena.com. Users residing in any of these countries can download the app and place orders from their iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, reports WCCF Tech.
According to the report on WCCF Tech, the version 3.3 of Apple Store recognizes the fingerprint sensor associated with iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, 6 Plus, iPad mini 3 and iPad Air 2 and the two step authentication is also available in the package.
As per a report on AppAdvice.com, the Apple Store App is getting more improvement and the software will now be able to make shopping for new devices and accessories more convenient than navigating to a web page or visiting a retail location. Apple has shared a hint that it wants its customers to experience new product launches and continuing sales through the app, reports AppAdvice.com.
Apple Store is compatible with iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and the new Apple Watch and it will also be a free download on the App Store, according to the AppAdvice.com report.
