The fanatical ratings of Dancing with the Stars 9 (DWTS9) came to a season's end on Tuesday night after Donny Osmond, together with his partner Kym Johnson became the grand winners of Season 9 Finale. The debonair half of Donnie & Marie singing duo proved to America that perfection in a dance is achievable when he swayed across the stage with a performance which is dubbed as 'artistry in motion.'
The 51 year-old Osmond beats American R&B singer, Mya Harrison and dancing partner Dmitry Chaplin, who settled for second place after a heart-stopping jive routine. Many viewers were disheartened upon hearing the results. Throughout the course of the competition, Harrison's performance appears perkier week after week, receiving flawless score points from the panel. However in the judgment session after each performance, the three judges, Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli, ritually deliver a shred of disapproval about the gig by Harrison and her Russian-born dance partner.
Rock singer and daughter of Ozzy Osbourne, Kelly, finished third with her dance partner, Louis van Amstel, even after Goodman commented that she epitomizes the core essence of the competition.
The multi-talented Osmond takes home an exclusive mirror ball trophy. This season of the highly-entertaining charity dance show pays homage to two of the greatest late American dancers, actor Patrick Swayze and pop legend, Michael Jackson.
