The B-52s Live At Enmore

The B-52s were in fine form at their live show at Enmore Theater Wednesday night. Considered the best party band in the world, the band, whose history spans nearly 30 years, had their audience eating out of their hands for the duration of their 90-minute set.

The band dominated a refreshingly basic stage set with their outlandish appearance and flair. The most visually arresting of them all had to be Cindy, who was resplendent with streams of platinum blonde hair, a rubber dress in black and red, finished off with chunky white sunglasses.

Perhaps in acknowledgment of her band mates' more understated costumes (Fred in striped jeans, Keith clad all in black and Kate in elegant aqua), Cindy strutted the stage barefoot when they performed Love Shack.

The show got off to a less than stellar start thanks to a questionable sound system. However, Cindy Wilson, Kate Pierson, Keith Strickland and Fred Schneider soon found the groove for which they are famous, really getting things started with Private Idaho.

The fans danced and sang along to a blistering set that included the 1990 classic Roam, crowd favorite Love Shack, Funplex and set-closer Rock Lobster. The finale brought the house down and left the audience clamoring for more.

Unfortunately, the subsequent evening was more subdued, with Cindy leaving the stage abruptly, citing heat exhaustion, causing some fans to leave in disappointment. Her flustered band mates soldiered on like troupers, managing to improve the mood with old favorites Roam and Planet Claire.

'Her flustered band mates soldiered on like troupers, managing to improve the mood with old favorites Roam and Planet Claire"I was there on Thursday .. the mood didn't improve. It was the worst concert I have been too in a long time. A complete waste of money - the band should have rescheduled or offered a refund. It was that bad.
