Eva Mendes has urged people to choose faux instead of fox. According to CNN.com, the spokeswoman for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, PETA, posed naked for an informational campaign on the 'Rather Go Naked than Wear Fur', two years ago. The striking Cuban-American Hollywood actress' latest promotional efforts include narrating a three-minute video which features real-life cruel methods of killing the animals before turning them into coats and scarves. PETA has a long list of celebrity spokespeople including former Baywatch babe, Pamela Anderson, Bollywood beauty, Shilpa Shetty, and former supermodel, Christy Turlington. PETA strongly opposes the use of chemicals on animals because scientifically the diseases in the tested animals are very different from those of humans. PETA volunteers have in fact used their own bodies as experimental canvases for vaccine tests.

The hardworking Miami-born actress have stopped eating beef, chicken and pork after getting involved in the campaign two years ago. She also states that her pet dog is her main inspiration for the avid activism in protesting against animal brutality.

Mendes, 35, had recently angered religious groups in New York after her half-naked Calvin Klein poster stood publicly displayed on giant billboards, which is considered a traumatizing visual to children and younger audiences. Mendes was furious with the remarks and slammed the critics, defending that the controversial image was represented in a tasteful and beautiful approach.
