Jodi Gordon Leaving Home and Away

With recent events in her life proving to be more dramatic than any plotline a writer could dream up, Jodi Gordon may be glad to say farewell to her 5-year association with Channel Seven's long-running Home and Away series. Gordon will film the last of her character's scenes next month.

It has been rumored that, far from being upset at the decision, Gordon is happy to be free of the association with the network owned by Kerry Stokes, her ex-boyfriend's father. According to the network, the actress chose to leave despite the popularity of her character Martha McKenzie. However, The Daily Telegraph reported that the network had already decided not to extend her contract, a decision made as early as November last year, and Gordon was duly informed of the development.

The actress had earlier been criticised for dating Ryan Stokes only months after then-boyfriend Chris Burkhardt passed away from cancer and for an incident in which Gordon was reported missing by Stokes, but was allegedly found in another man's apartment, having drug hallucinations. The episode was highly embarrassing given Gordon's association with the Stokes family and Channel Seven, and a breakup quickly followed.

Gordon is reportedly currently dating Braith Anasta of the Sydney Roosters and has apparently decided to take a break from acting for the moment.
