The war of words between Taylor Swift's label Chief Executive Officer, Scott Borchetta, also the manager of Big Machine Records took sides when the winner of the first American Idol began to slash back. Last week, the CEO reacted to negative comments from critics when Swift's high-pitched performance did not quite fit the bill at the Grammy Awards.

According to the Associated Press, Borchetta fired back at the critics, with the statement, 'This is not American Idol. This is not the competition of getting up and seeing who can see the highest note.' Kelly Clarkson wrote a letter to the big guy from the major music label, in which she expressed her dissatisfaction about the insensitive remark about the country's most popular singing contest. Clarkson has said that she owes her success to the reality show. The comment made by Borchetta was definitely was uncalled for and Clarkson has made it known publicly in a statement, "We don't only hit the high notes but the 'right' notes as well".
A few days later, Clarkson tweeted 'I buy her albums and cover her songs. Obviously I am a fan,' in an effort to declare that she is not against Swift or her work. Winner of the seventh season, David Cook, tweeted a post ' Kudos @ kelly_clarkson. Love it' in support of Clarkson's defense for AI.
