Revenge is a dish best served cold but for John Mayer, its best served in a song. After being dissed by Taylor Swift in the song "Dear John", John Mayer retaliates with his own post-split serenade called "Paper Dolls." So which song is the better break-up song: Taylor Swift's "Dear John" or John Mayer's "Paper Dolls?"

What goes around definitely comes around. After singing sweet beginnings to heart breaking ends, Taylor Swift is now the receiving end of a break-up song. John Mayer has finally had his revenge on Swift with his latest single, "Paper Dolls." In the single, Mayer takes several jabs at Swift and compares her to a doll implying she's two-faced. The lyrics are as follows.

Paper doll, come try it on
Step out of that black chiffon
Here's a dress of gold and blue
Sure was fun being good to you

This one we made just for fall
And winter runs a bit too small
This mint green is new for spring
My love didn't cost a thing

You're like 22 girls in one
And none of them know what they're runnin' from
Was it just too far to fall?
For a little paper doll

Fold a scarf, Moroccan red
And tie your hair behind your head
Strap into some heels that hurt
You should've kept my undershirt

You're like twenty-two girls in one
And none of them know what they're runnin' from
Was it just too far to fall?
For a little paper doll

Cut the cord and pull some strings
And make yourself some angel wings
And if those angel wings don't fly
Someone's gonna paint you another sky

'Cause you're like twenty-two girls in one
And none of them know what they're runnin' from
Was it just too far to fall?

'Cause you're like twenty-two girls in one
And none of them know what they're runnin' from
Was it just too far to fall?

For those living under a rock all this time, John Mayer was the least bit pleased about Swift's song writing abilities after being dissed in her single, "Dear John." Mayer's interview in Rolling Stone clearly says a lot about his "hateful" feelings towards the song and Taylor Swift.

"It made me feel terrible. Because I didn't deserve it. I'm pretty good at taking accountability now, and I never did anything to deserve that. It was a really lousy thing for her to do. I was really caught off-guard, and it really humiliated me at a time when I'd already been dressed down. I mean, how would you feel if, at the lowest you've ever been, someone kicked you even lower?" explained Mayer, adding, "I will say as a songwriter that I think it's kind of cheap songwriting. I know she's the biggest thing in the world, and I'm not trying to sink anybody's ship, but I think it's abusing your talent to rub your hands together and go, 'Wait till he gets a load of this!' That's bulls**t."

Both songs may be catchy and the lyrics enough to reopen old wounds but which song is the better break-up serenade? Check out the lyric video for "Paper Dolls" and re-listen to Swift's "Dear John" below.
