The next massive patch for “Diablo 3” will roll out before the end of the year and fans of the hit RPG by Blizzard will be treated to hours upon hours of content with the 2.4.0 patch. Aside from new quests, equipment and enemies to face, the patch will also include a whole new area to explore in Adventure Mode.

Blizzard recently released a new video that showcases the new zone for Adventure Mode called Greyhollow Island. The video seen below gives players their first glimpse of the new zone. The video is quite short but it does show off the setting of the new explorable area as well as some of the enemies players can face. Blizzard also teases a few information about Greyhollow Island in a blog post.

"Grasping the story of Greyhollow is a more complex endeavor than a jaunt through the zone,” wrote Blizzard. It added that “as you explore the island, you’ll begin to unravel the mystery that’s threaded through each journal entry and event you stumble upon. Not every player will experience the story in quite the same way and may not even draw the same conclusions as a result; it’s truly the choice of each adventurer how much they want to focus on what’s unfolding or just blitz through and check a bounty off their list."

The blog post also notes that the Greyhollow Island is deeply inspired by the Pacific Northwest. Technical artist Neal Wojahn’s time spent in the Pacific Northwest was the main basis of Greyhollow Island as he remembers an area in the coastline called as the Graveyard of the Pacific. As such, several screenshots reveal broken ships across Greyhollow Island.

Blizzard still hasn’t revealed an exact release date for the patch, but it did note before that it will release this year. With the preview now live, players should expect the update very soon.
