Movie director Anthony Russo was recently asked to comment on the rumours about Tom Holland’s Spider-Man costume in “Captain America: Civil War.” There have been stories claiming he will wear multiple suits in the movie. Russo only further fuelled the rumours in a recent interview when he mentioned Spider-Man’s costume will be a mixture of what people have seen before.

The “Captain America: Civil War” director talked briefly about Holland’s Spider-Man and what fans should expect to see from his costume in the film in an interview with Spanish site Super Interessante (via Comic Book Movie). He was asked directly if fans would see three varieties of Holland’s Spider-Man costume in the film.

“Well, we did a lot of research and experimented with the looks of each character. We went through the same process with Spider-Man,” he said.

He added that Holland’s Spider-Man costume for “Captain America: Civil War” is still being worked on. Spider-Man’s costume is reportedly still “not ready yet because so much will be produced with special effects.”

Russo was further asked if Holland’s Spider-Man costume in “Captain America: Civil War” consists of the legendary colours red and gold like in the “Civil War” comics. Without providing any spoilers, Anthony said instead that the film “will show show a mix of what everyone is waiting for with a little twist.”

The interviewer was basically asking Russo about Spider-Man’s Iron Spider costume in the “Civil War” comics. This suit was reportedly designed by Tony Stark using his technology and was created based on Iron Man’s armour design, according to Collider.

Back in April, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige also said Holland’s Spider-Man costume in “Captain America: Civil War” will be unlike what people have seen before. However, he added that Sony and Marvel have decided on a classic take on the web crawler’s costume.

Whether or not Holland’s Spider-Man costume in “Captain America: Civil War” is the Iron Spider is still uncertain. Likewise, it’s still unknown just how much screen time he gets in the movie since he will reportedly only have a cameo appearance. Holland will debut his version of the web crawler in May 6, 2016 before he leads the still-untitled “Spider-Man” reboot in 2017.
