Christian Bale did get attached to his "Batman" role after all. Now that Ben Affleck is set to play the caped crusader, Bale said that he felt twinges of jealousy, even though he's not letting this affect his relationship with Ben.

In an interview with Empire magazine (via the Guardian), Christian Bale admitted that he felt jealous the first time he heard someone was already chosen to play the role of Batman that he vacated: Ben Affleck. He recalled just being miserable about it for at least 30 minutes. "I've got to admit initially, even though I felt that it was the right time to stop, there was always a bit of me going, 'Oh, go on... Let's do another,'" the actor said. "So when I heard there was someone else doing it, there was a moment where I just stopped and stared into nothing for half an hour."

This does not mean he is not happy nor excited for Ben Affleck to take on the role, though. His "crusader" tendencies actually took over and he offered the new Batman some tips on how to play the superhero role for "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice." He shared that being jealous at 40 is unbecoming of him and that he should get over it quickly. While he did not directly speak with Ben, he has been emailing him the pointers. He joked too that he could imagine Ben trying to avoid anything that he did.

It could be remembered that executive producer Christopher Nolan has nothing but praise for the new Batman actor. He attributed his excitement to Ben having won Best Picture as director and as an actor. He said he got really excited when he first learned that Ben Affleck would want to be Batman. He even said he would be the first in line to see the film once it's out.

Bale, meanwhile, would be busy, though. He's going to play "Moses" in the upcoming film "Exodus." The actor is also going to work on the much-awaited film, "The Jungle Book: Origins," alongside equally big names such as Benedict Cumberbatch, Naomi Harris, and Cate Blanchett.

"Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" will be shown in U.S. theatres on March 25, 2016. In the meantime, some cast and crew have already been seen in Chicago filming certain scenes.
