Elle Macpherson advices ‘Australia’s Next Top Model’ hopefuls to ‘stay calm, believe in yourself’

Supermodel Elle Macpherson may have decades of runway experience to boot but she offered a relatively simple advice to those aspiring to become “Australia’s Next Top Model.
During the second episode of “Australia’s Next Top Model” Cycle 10, Macpherson showed up in the reality television show as a guest mentor to the 12 remaining candidates in the competition.
“Stay calm, believe in yourself,” the 52-year-old blonde model who rose to fame with her cover photos for the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue in the 1980s.
“And the one other thing I would tell you girls is go for the adventure, because that's what I did... and here I am,” added the businesswoman-actress who hosted Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model from 2010 to 2013.
Macpherson, born Eleanor Nancy Gow in NSW, began her modeling career in 1982 with a commercial shoot with soft drink brand Tab. Since then, she has graced the covers of fashion magazines Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, Vogue, Cosmopolitan, and GQ, among others. She was most famous for appearing five times on the cover of Sports Illustrated for the magazine’s annual swimsuit issues.

For the competition’s second challenge, the 12 remaining hopefuls on “Australia’s Next Top Model” were photographed posing with a horse at the Royal Randwick racecourse in Sydney. The girls were also given a task to shoot a creative video promoting Colgate Optic White on social media.
At the end of the task, Jordan Simek rose to the top of the challenge and was named the new brand ambassador for Colgate Optic White for her winning smile. The 20-year-old model from Sydney will be featured on the toothpaste brand’s spring campaign.
On the other hand, Laura Taaffee was eliminated after failing to impress “Australia’s Next Top Model” judges Jennifer Hawkins, Megan Gale and Alex Perry with her blank expression during the racecourse photo shoot.
