'The Flash' season 2 episode 19 spoilers: Barry loses his speed and returns to regular life in 'Back to Normal'

In Season 2 Episode 19 of “The Flash,” Barry (Grant Gustin) will have to deal with Zoom and a new threat without his superspeed.

Previously, Zoom kidnapped Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) after exchanging Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) for The Flash’s speed.

Based on the Episode 19 synopsis, Barry will have to save Caitlin from Zoom without his superhuman speed. Aside from Zoom, there will be a new meta-human named Griffin Grey (Haig Sutherland) who will threaten Harry (Tom Cavanagh). Griffin will mistake Harry for his Earth-1 doppelganger and kidnap him, believing that he can fix his current situation. Barry will try to rescue his friends by asking for help from Harry’s daughter, Jesse (Violett Beane).

In the meantime, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) will try his best to cover The Flash’s real identity from a curious Wally. It is very likely that Wally will discover the truth eventually as he digs up for more clues. Wally felt very guilty about putting The Flash on the line in exchange for himself.

The episode title, “Back to Normal,” suggests that Barry will be readjusting to his normal life again with normal speed. He will return to his condition as a CSI lab assistant before he turned into a speedster. He was shown in the promo video doing regular things and worrying that everyone will soon realise that he no longer has his powers.

As he faces Griffin, he will wear the red costume in an attempt to make the villain believe that he still has superspeed. The team tries to figure out how Barry can beat Griffin, who has superhuman strength, without his speed. The team opined that his suit will only absorb one punch. The promo video also showed Barry taking a huge hit from Griffin and begging him to stop.

It is still uncertain whether Barry will face Zoom again soon in the next episode, or whether the supervillain will be featured making his preparations against the team and hold Caitlin captive longer. The next episode will most likely hint where Zoom is keeping Caitlin hostage.

“The Flash” Season 2 Episode 19 will air on April 26 on The CW in the US and on Fox8 in Australia.
