British Actor Kit Harington's character Jon Snow in the hit HBO fantasy series, "Game Of Thrones." is the bastard son of a Lord. In real life, however, it turns out that Harington has traceable royal ancestry. The actor insists that it is all just part of his family history and he is certainly not to be considered someone posh.

"My parents didn't have a lot of money when I was growing up. We were comfortable, but I didn't go to Oxbridge." said Harington in an interview with the London Evening Standard. He singled out American journalists, in particular, who have acquired the habit of bringing up his blue-blood lineage.

Harington said that his grandfather was a baronet and that he is a descended of Charles II. But, this does not mean that he grew up like a rich kid. He said that it is infuriating when journalists immediately stereotype him as a posh actor. He also stated that his mom shares the same opinion and she has been telling him to inform the journalists that he went to a state school and not to a preppy boarding school.

Harington attended the Sixth Form College after going to Chantry High in Worchester, England. In his interview, he shared that it was difficult to make it in the acting industry as an actor, especially because he was not independently wealthy. After all, the big break for any actor cannot be predicted and it may be around the corner or years away.

The actor revealed that he used to live in a shared flat when he was at Central School for Speech and Drama. He didn't even have his own room but instead, he just had a bed in the mezzanine level of the flat. He was able to access his bed only through a ladder. He said that his best mate would often take out his ladder in the morning as a prank to keep him in bed.

After the success of "Game of Thrones," Harington has now purchased a black BMW. Not only that, he now also has his own flat in London, but he has hardly stayed in the flat. His acting career has taken off outside of the HBO series and he has starred in a number of other projects. Harington said that that he now lives a nomadic life.
