'Game of Thrones' Season 7: Braavos may not be featured; Multiple battles near castles
The producers are reportedly scouting for locations for “Game of Thrones” Season 7. The first few details about the next season that have surfaced online reveal that Braavos may not be featured in the next season and there will be many battles that will be either inside castles or near them.
According to a report by El Punt Avui, the production will not be returning to Girona in Spain for the next season. The Spanish city has been extensively used to film scenes depicting Braavos and King’s Landing.
If the producers are not returning to the city, it suggests that Arya (Maisie Williams) will be returning to Westeros in Season 6. Scenes of King’s Landing may be filmed at Dubrovnik, where the King’s Landing scenes were filmed in the previous years, before the Braavos storyline became significant.
The Girona City Council and HBO have so far refused to comment on reports that the production of “Game of Thrones” Season 7 will not be returning to the city. Filming details and schedule are expected to be announced after the finale episode of the current season.
A total of 13 episodes are remaining in the TV series, according to the recent statements made by one of the Jack Bender, who is one of the directors for the show. The 13 episodes will be divided into two seasons, with Season 8 being the last for the TV series.
Meanwhile, the producers are scouting for castles in Spain, Los Siete Reinos reports. A source familiar with the production of the TV series has reportedly revealed that there will be “a significant number of battles” in castles or near them in the next season.
Fresh Films is said to be scouting the area around Galicia in Spain for “Game of Thrones” Season 7. None of the filming locations for the show have been chosen yet and the confirmation will have to come from HBO soon.
