Brazilian scientists made a study of thee sexual positions during lovemaking and found that 50 percent of fractures of the penis happened when the woman was on top.

When penetration is done from a rear entry position or the doggy style, it accounted for almost 29 percent, while the least is when the man is on top or the missionary position with 21 percent, reports Mirror.

Explaining why the woman-on-top position is the most dangerous when it comes to penile fracture, a Brazilian expert pointed out that when the woman controls the movement with her body weight landing on the male genital, she won’t likely interrupt it because she would only feel minor pain, but her male partner would experience major pain in his penis if there is a wrong-way penetration.

In half of the cases that there was penile fracture, there was a cracking sound and in 80 percent of the time, the penis became limp. Two males even sustained long-term damage by suffering from erectile dysfunction.

One shortcoming though of the study, published in 2014 by Advances in Urology journal, is the sample size since the researchers could only find 44 men who suffered from fractured private parts. They are residents of Campinas in Brazil.

Four of them got the injury via man-to-man sex, 28 during heterosexual lovemaking and six through penis manipulation.

The average age of the respondents was 34. And because of the embarrassment it causes victims, some of the men waited for as long as six hours before they went to a doctor.
