'Harry Potter' Concept Art Reveals a Grislier End to Lord Voldemort
The world renowned wizardly movie franchise "Harry Potter" ended last summer, yet the fandom and hype continue. It's the second month of 2012, and once again "Harry Potter" dominates half of the "Muggle" news. What better way to bring back the hype than with a few new stills of Lord Voldemort, or what could have been his grisly end?
Though Lord Voldemort's death at the end of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" was efficient enough, some fans were dissatisfied with pieces of his confetti-like self drifting in the cinema for the 3D effect. With director David Yates on board, fans were hoping he'd have a more creative end.
Little do fans know that the death scene of "He Who Must Not Be Named" could have been darker and grislier than what was shown on the big screen, and thanks to concept artist Andrei Riabotvitchev a new set of stills have been released.
The latest art concept depicts a much more gratifying end to the Dark Lord and fans of "Raiders of the Lost Ark" would find that a few of the stills closely resemble a few face melting scenes used on Voldemort. The images are definitely gruesome which could be the prime reason as to why these weren't used in the film, with its younger audience.
Though fans shouldn't dream on the idea of these effects being incorporated into the DVD or Blu-Ray release of the film because according to Warner Bros. the production of Harry Potter films had ended in 2011. This only means if the DVDs are sold out then they indeed are all sold out. There are plans for an eight-film complete collection to be released this year though no word if it would incorporate the concept art of the grislier end of Lord Voldemort.
Meanwhile, Daniel Radcliffe is starring in his first post-Potter film, "The Woman in Black," while Emma Watson will be starring in the highly anticipated "The Perks of Being a Wallflower."
