The British invasion came in the world of Hollywood just right in time for the arrival of the Aussies. It is amazing to discover that the most popular superhero roles for this year have been grabbed by the Brits. There's Andrew Garfield playing 'Spider-Man,' Christian Bale as Batman and of course, Henry Cavill for Superman.

In fact, there is also a sufficient number of Brit actresses who have also made their own success in mainstream Hollywood. They go by the likings of Keira Knightley, Carey Mulligan and a lot more. And who would not forget the 'Twilight' superstar, Robert Pattinson?

Alex Pettyfer became the new face of YA film adaptations for having starred in 'I Am Number Four.' This Brit hunk also became the tattooed face for 'Beastly' and was considered first for other screen adaptations like 'The Last Apprentice' and 'City of Bones.'

Henry Cavill may have been familiar with the Hollywood scene as he has ended up with small parts in the past for movies like 'Stardust.' But nothing can beat his biggest break for playing in 'Tudors' and becoming the next Superman for the movie 'Man of Steel.'

Nicholas Hoult started as the primary schooler in the movie 'About a Boy.' Then he moved on playing the bad boy role for the first two seasons of a British series called 'Skins.' His most recent performance was the young Beast character in 'X-Men: First Class,' where he met his current girlfriend,Jennifer Lawrence from 'The Hunger Games.'

Andrew Garfield first became a popular face in the movie 'The Social Network.' He is LA-born but grew up entirely in England. He made lots of news for reviving the 'Spider-Man' role where he played with real life girlfriend, Emma Stone.
