Kristen Wiig proved she is not just that funny woman on “Saturday Night Live,” but also the lady who showed off her sexier side in a new spread for Violet Grey’s “The Violet Files.” The actress posed for a series of lingerie-inspired shots, flaunting her to-die-for figure and an ample amount of cleavage coupled with a sultry look that channeled her inner “Helmut Newton model.”

Despite her hilarious, no-holds-barred performances on the big screen, Wiig is surprisingly a reserved woman who is keen on keeping her personal private life private, having no social media accounts and barely gracing the tabloids, Violet Grey stated. For this reason, the digital magazine decided to try a different approach to the actress’ cover story this month.

The new vintage-style photoshoot, creative directed by fashion photographer Ben Hasset, had the 41-year-old Wiig smoldering the camera in her sexy coiffed hair and a sheer LaPerla bodysuit tucked in high-waisted underwear as she posed seductively on a staircase, in a pool and in a garden. The photoshoot definitely marked the actress’ most sultry one yet, People stated, as dim lights that surrounded the actress played a part on her enigmatic allure.

Wiig’s spread was accompanied by an interview conducted by friend Tim Robbins, who stars with her in the latest comedy-drama flick “Welcome to Me.” In the film, Wiig plays the lead role of Alice Klieg, a woman suffering from a borderline personality disorder who won the Mega Millions lottery and quit her psychiatric medication to buy her own talk show.

The SNL alum shared that she was nervous about the comedy part of the film than she was with the drama because she didn’t want the humor to seem offensive to her character Alice. "I didn't want to make it too light. And that was hard because there are funny things in this movie but I never wanted it to seem like I was making fun of her," she said, as quoted by E! News.

Wiig also talked about one tear-jerking scene from the movie where she stripped down and wandered completely naked and confused through a crowded casino. While people expected a different context to her nude scenes, she said, “Being naked in a film or on stage isn't always supposed to be sexy. It was the part and it felt right, so I did it.” She added that she felt nervous knowing that people are going to make comments, but she believed that caring about what other people say makes her job only more difficult, and that one should have to do things for himself.

The actress also hoped that fans would embrace this dramatic side of her, having been marked as a funny woman since her SNL and “Bridesmaids” years. She shared that she gets frustrated when she does a supposedly sad scene, but people only laugh when it was screened. She wanted people to have an equal appreciation of her dark and funny moments in her shows, although she said it was up to them how they would interpret them.

Wiig starred alongside fellow SNL alum Bill Hader last year in the Sundance hit “The Skeleton Twins,” which revolved around estranged twins who found each other after a series of failed suicide attempts. Her new film “Welcome to Me” premiered at the Toronto Film Festival last fall and will open in theaters on Friday.
