Miss Earth Update: Pre-Pageant Highlights, Top 5 Contestants

Miss Earth 2013 is nearing the final night and the 88 delegates from all corners of the globe will be competing for the title as the 13th Miss Earth Queen. The coronation night is set Dec. 7 at the Versailles Palace in Alabang, Muntinlupa City, Philippines.

Since this year's pageant is aligned with "The International Year of Water Cooperation," this year's winner for the water element will be a great honor. Reigning Miss Earth 2012 Tereza Fajksova of Czech Republic will crown her successor who will continuing her job as Miss Earth Organization ambassador.

Known as one of the three largest beauty pageants in the world, Miss Earth title holders dedicate their time in promoting specific projects that address environmental issues. Reigning queens will address global issues through school tours, tree planting activities, environmental fair, eco-fashion shows and other environmental activities.

Since their arrival in the Philippines, the delegates have been competing in a series of preliminary competitions, including swimsuit, national costume, group activities like I Love My Planet School Campaign and Most Child Friendly and talent competition.
