Nike releases Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG 'All-Star'
Nike Inc (NYSE: NKE) released Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG "All-Star" on Sunday. The retail price of the black/metallic Jordan sneakers is at US$175 (AU$228).
The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG "All-Star" was inspired by Michael Jordan’s (MJ) 1982 game-winning shot at the University of North Carolina (UNC) sweeping the National Championship at the Superdome in New Orleans. The new collection has classic elements of Nike brand with iridescent leather trim, a rubber midsole and translucent icy blue outsole. The new sneakers can be bought at selected Jordan Brand retailers.
The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG "All-Star" was part of Nike's Jordan All-Star Collection iridescent trio of iconic silhouettes. The first one was the Air Jordan XXXI (31) "All-Star" that was launched on Feb. 16. The second from the trio was the Air Jordan VI All-Star that was released on Feb. 17.
The Air Jordan XXXI (31) “All-Star” is a special version of MJ's thirty-first signature shoe. This collection features a mix of leather, iridescent colours, Flyweave and Zoom Air. It also has a hexagonal upper with the purple/green iridescent treatment on the midsole of the shoes and is priced at US$200 (AU$260).
Nike also brought back the Air Jordan 6 Retro in the All-Star Collection. The Air Jordan 6 “All-Star” features an iridescent leather upper with hexagon Jumpman logos on the heel and insole. The second collection, Air Jordan 6 “All-Star” has a retail price of US$225 (AU$293) in both adult and kids' sizes.
This collection features an iridescent leather upper that changes colours similar to the “Wings” Air Jordan 12. It also has 3M reflective detailing, iridescent lace tips and midsole with a clear translucent outsole. Nike's Jordan All-Star collection trio are sure for grabs for sneaker lovers and fans of NBA star Michael Jordan.
