Cast member Jennifer Morrison teased some details about her character Emma Swan in “Once Upon a Time” Season 5, in a recent interview. The actress revealed that the transition of her character is like “looking at her own inner demons.”

[Spoiler alert]

Emma Swan is back to being a hero on the show. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Morrison said that her character is going into the Underworld “full of love and hope and vulnerability.” Looking back at her “Dark Swan” phase, the actress said that it was like “looking at her own inner demons” and the phase now allowed her to be “more open” and “vulnerable.”

The main mission of the heroes in the next part of the season is to try and get Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) back. Morrison said that her character is slowly accepting the fact that she “deeply loves Hook and that she's going to risk everything to try and save him.”

There will be some twists along the way, however, and Emma may get to meet someone from her past in the Underworld. It is not clear if Emma will be reunited with Neal a.k.a. Baelfire (Michael Raymond-James) in the Underworld in “Once Upon a Time” Season 5. The actress teased that her character will find “several fun surprises and unexpected encounters.”

Emma will get strong support from her parents, who understand the importance of finding true love. “He’s going to give [Emma] the room to make her own decisions about [Hook] and whatever she needs to do to find that for herself,” Josh Dallas (David Nolan) said about his character’s support to Emma.

Regina (Lana Parrilla) will also be supporting Emma in “Once Upon a Time” Season 5. Parrilla said that her character feels “obligated” to help Emma because she “sacrificed her life to save Regina” in the past. Another reason for her to help her one time foe is that she is now part of the family, which is very important for Regina.
