The American R& B and pop singer and song-writer and very pregnant, Mariah Carey has revealed the gender of her twins - - her first pregnancy with husband Nick Cannon.Carey shared in an interview with Life & Style magazine that she and husband Nick are now expecting one boy and one girl.

The 40-year-old (or 41) first time mommy said MTV.com, gushed about her impending motherhood in an interview for the impending issue of the celebrity magazine. Mariah was quoted as telling Life & Style all the preparations that she and husband Nick are doing for the babies.

"Even before we announced it was twins, I was trying to keep everything gender-neutral, because I didn't want to impose an identity on them too soon," Mariah was quoted as sharing with the Life & Style, according to MTV.com.

Neutral as she tried to be, but things are different, after they found out the gender of their babies. A friend of the couple told the magazine the changes made, now that they have both a boy and a girl.

"It's all about pink and blue these days. It's truly going to be a dream come true for them. They get a son and daughter," the couple’s unidentified friend told the magazine, with emphasis on how the news has made the celebrity couple even happier these days.

Nick was the first to disclose that they are expecting twins, no less than to US President Barack Obama and his First Lady, Michelle Obama. MTV.com said that Nick was heard breaking the news to the First Couple ‘by accident’, at the backstage at TNT’s ‘Christmas in Washington 2010”.

Mariah and Nick have just a couple of months to prepare for their twins, since as The Herald Sun noted, the babies are expected between April and early May.
