The recently released Galaxy A9 (2016) smartphone has a model number of SM-A9000. This indicates that the listed device could be the purported Galaxy A9 Pro.
For those who don’t know, Zauba tracks India’s imports and exports and has proved to be reliable in confirming key specifications of upcoming devices in the past.
Samsung has global development and testing centres in India. The Zauba listing seems to have reflected the details of the Galaxy A9 Pro units, which arrived for testing in India from Samsung’s home country.
The specs of the Galaxy A9 Pro are not yet confirmed. However, there speculations that the alleged smartphone will have features quiet similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy A9 (2016).
The standard Galaxy A9 (2016) touts a massive 6-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The Zauba listing confirms the previous speculations that the enhanced edition will also sport the same screen size.
However, being an enhanced version, the Galaxy A9 Pro is rumoured to support Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels.
The Galaxy A9 Pro might come pre-installed with the latest Android Marshmallow OS onboard. The regular Galaxy A9 is shipped with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS .
The regular Galaxy A9 (2016) is powered by a Snapdragon 652 Soc paired with 3 GB of RAM. The enhanced Galaxy A9 Pro is expected to arrive with a more powerful processor and more internal storage.
The Galaxy A9 (2016) features a 13 MP camera that is equipped with optical image stabilisation along with an 8 MP front shooter. There is a huge 4000 mAh battery to juice up the smartphone. The device adorns a stylish metallic design with a fingerprint scanner.
According to a report in Phone Arena, the Galaxy A9 Pro might be launched globally unlike the regular Galaxy A9, which is available only in China. Last year, along with Galaxy A9, Samsung also released the 2016 versions of Galaxy A7, Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A3.
