Taylor Swift’s Scottish cat Meredith left the superstar’s left leg with a three-inch scratch on Saturday, ITV reports. Her legs have been reported to be insured with $40 million just the week before by her managing team as part of the preparation for her upcoming world tour.

After the incident, Taylor posted a photo of her scratched leg on her Twitter account on Saturday, March 14. "Great work Meredith. I was just trying to love you and now you owe me 40 million dollars,” she joked.

According to NY Daily, Swift’s team insured her legs ahead of her world tour in case something bad happens, wanting to make sure that the 25-year-old singer still has something to take with her even after she cannot perform her signature moves on stage because of any form of leg injury.

Taylor's other cat, Olivia Benson, has had a moment in the spotlight after being called "the weirdest cat ever" by John Cleese in "The Graham Norton" show last year. However, this is the first time for Meredith to grace the headlines after being shed with a completely new spotlight for "misbehaving."

The day had not been all bad for the "Blank Space" singer after all, however. That same day, she went out with HAIM for a sunny ride along the coast to celebrate the birthday of one of her celebrity best friends. She posted their amusing video in Instagram as they sang along to the classic and popular song “This Kiss” by Faith Hill.

“Happy Birthday, Este!! Ever since you, Alana, and Danielle adopted me into your wolf pack, life has never been the same. @haimtheband,” she captioned the video.
