The biographical drama “Truth” starring Cate Blanchett hit theatres on Oct. 16. Having won two Academy Awards, the actress recently talked about how much she loves acting.

“Being able to create and play characters and let my imagination flow is something I have always enjoyed,” Daily Telegraph quoted Blanchett as saying. She said she is “ almost afraid to admit” that she loves acting the way she loved it when she was still starting as an actress.

Blanchett claimed that she has always been able to maintain a certain distance from her work. She said she never brings home her work and she just leaves the intense emotions she often experiences on the set for audiences.

According to Blanchett, acting fulfils her in many ways and it gives her life the kind of balance she needs so that when she comes home, she can “switch off and be a good mother.” Married to Andrew Upton, she has three biological sons and one adopted daughter.

In 1999, Blanchett received her first Academy Award nomination for “Elizabeth.” She received her first Academy Award for “The Aviator” in 2005 followed by her Best Actress win in 2014 for “Blue Jasmine.”

After “Blue Jasmine,” Blanchett starred in several films including “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.” Before “Truth,” she played the stepmother in the Lily James starrer “Cinderella.”

Along with Blanchett, “Truth” stars Robert Redford, Topher Grace, Dennis Quaid, Elisabeth Moss, Bruce Greenwood, Stacy Keach, John Benjamin Hickey, David Lyons, Dermot Mulroney and Rachael Blake, among others. It was written and directed by first-time director James Vanderbilt.

In a recent interview with Time, Vanderbilt talked about having a two-time Academy Award winner in his movie considering that he is a first-time director. He said, “The first time, it’s sort of like you’re the least qualified person on set, and yet you’re the guy in charge.”

Before directing “Truth,” Vanderbilt wrote the screenplay of several Hollywood films including “Zodiac” and “The Amazing Spider-Man.” He will also write the screenplay of “Independence Day 3.”
