'Ultimate' Spider-Man Miles Morales has entered 'Marvel Contest of Champions'
With the original Spider-Man and fan-favourite Spider-Gwen are already in the game, it was only a matter of time before “Ultimate” Spider-Man Miles Morales entered the “Marvel Contest of Champions.” The character’s third ongoing series is set to debut next month, and his inclusion in the game could add more interest for his upcoming comic book.
For those not familiar with the character, Miles Morales first debuted in the “Ultimate” universe and took up the Spider-Man mantle, after Peter Parker died protecting his family. Like Peter before him, Miles was bitten by a bio-engineered spider that gave him incredible powers like enhanced strength, the ability to stick to walls and invisibility, among other things.
After the events of “Secret Wars” and “Ultimate End,” Miles Morales ended up in the same earth as the rest of the Marvel superheroes, officially joining the regular Marvel canon. He has since joined the “All-new All-different Avengers,” along with Nova, Ms. Marvel, Vision, Iron Man, Thor (Jane Foster) and Captain America (Sam Wilson).
Miles’ inclusion in the game was revealed in the official “Contest of Champions” Facebook page. The character sports his signature black and red costume and has an interesting set of finishers, to say the least, all of which can be seen in the video below.
His first finisher “Triple Web Shot” is basically a three-hit combo with web balls, while his second finisher “Pow! Thwack! Sizzle!” makes use of his venom strike from the comics. His third finisher is interesting, as it is the same move Chun-Li uses in “Street Fighter V,” according to Event Hubs, with the only major difference being the length of the kicks.
It’s an interesting thing to take note of, since “Street Fighter V” is going to debut next month. If anything else, seeing Miles almost perfecting the move is amusing, to say the least.
“Marvel Contest of Champions” is available now as a free download for iOS and Android devices, and it has proven to be a popular mobile fighting game. There is also a comic book series based on the game that is currently written by Sam Humphries and drawn by Paco Medina.
