10 Things You Don’t Know About Miss World 2013 Megan Young

Crowned as the first Filipina to win the Miss World, Miss Philippines Megan Young earned her new title on September 28 in Bali, Indonesia where she bested 127 contestants from all over the world. The 23-year old actress/host will be based in London for her entire reign and will be travelling the world to represent Miss World Organisation.

Here are some fun facts you don't know about Miss World 2013 Megan Young.

1. Megan Young is a cat Lady. She named her cat Salem from a popular comedy series "Sabrina the Teenage Witch."

2. Megan Young is a National Peace Ambassador. Together with other celebrities like The Voice of the Philippines coach apl.de.ap, Gerald Anderson, Mikael Daez and Anne Curtis; Megan was appointed in September 2012 by the President himself Benigno Aquino III as a National Ambassador for "I Am For Peace." The campaign aims to "mobilize public support for peace through the involvement of various sectors and known personalities."

3. Megan Young has an equally beautiful sister. Her sister's name is Lauren Young who is also an actress in the Philippines. Born November 8, 1993, Lauren is 4 years younger than Megan.

4. Megan Young is a certified die-hard gamer. Yep, she is not just beautiful but also very "techie" when she admitted during the Miss World Coronation night her love for video games. A beautiful geek, Megan also loves card games and boards games as a way to bond with her family.

5. Megan Young is hardcore foodie. Although she maintains a 25 inch waist line, the beauty queen is a self-confessed foodie and she isn't shy about it. Her favorite street food is taho, dirty ice cream sandwiches and fishballs. She is also a chocoholic and loves pizza and waffles.

6. Megan Young once starred in a soap opera opposite Zanjoe Marrudo. In May 2012, Megan starred in ABS-CBN's "Hiyas," a part of the "Precious Hearts Romance Series. The story tells about a native warrior who crosses paths with a rich city girl who was dumped by her boyfriend on their wedding day.

7. Megan Young is single. Although she was linked to Mikael Daez, Young explained in several interview that they are just friends.

8. Megan Young is a "Housemate." She is the youngest housemate of the realitry show "Big Brother" in its second celebrity edition.

9. Megan Young comtemplated to join "Binibining Pilipinas," where the winner will represent the country for Miss Universe Pageant. "I didn't join. I was considering but I had prior commitments that I couldn't say no to, that was under contract," explained Young in an interview on the ABS-CBN late-night newscast "Bandila."

10.Megan has a sock addiction. Instead of selfies, Young loves to take pictures of her feet from taking a dip in the pool to lazing around with her fuzzy socks.
