$19-Million Medical Suite at Michael Schumacher’s Home to Continue Treatment

In an effort to discharge former Formula 1 mogul from the hospital, Michael Schumacher's wife Corrina Schumacher have planned to setup a state-of-the-art medical facility at their home in the bank of Lake Geneva, Switzerland.

The set-up of the facility was reported to be worth $19 million.

The 45-year-old F1 guru was admitted to hospital three months ago after he met a fatal accident from a ski crash. This event led to medically induced coma, and he is currently under treatment at Grenble University Hospital in France.

Former Formula 1 chief doctor Dr Gary Hartstein earlier stated that fans of Formula 1 should be prepared for the worst.

Mr Hartstein later stated that Michael Schumacher can be transferred to his home, provided a special medical intensive care facility can be developed to support the on-going treatment. He said that the French hospital has some problems with bed space in the intensive unit down-the-line.

"I think it is inevitable that should the status quo continue, the ICU [intensive care unit] staff may well, at some point in the not-distant future, decide that the patient they've just been asked to admit has a higher need for that bed than Michael, given his clinical situation and prognosis," Mr Hartstein said.

Micheal Schumachaer currently lost around 25 per cent of body mass and now weighs only 55 kg.

Moreover, Schumacher's family travels 250 km each day to be by the side of the legend for 10 hours a day.

The news of Schumachar's accident is one of the most heart-wrenching news in recent Formula 1 history. Several attempts have been made to wake him up, but still there is no glimpse of his return.
