Two men deliberately ended their lives after they were involved in separate scandals.

The younger one, 15-year-old Christian Adamek from Hunstville, Alabama, hanged himself on Oct 2 and died on Oct 4 in shame over being arrested a week earlier for streaking across a high school football field on Sept 27.

Mr Adamek was at the risk of being placed on the state's sex offender registry if proven guilty of indecent exposure. School officials, angered over his act, threatened to expel him from Sparkman High and file legal action for showing his naked body in public.

To worsen the situation, a video of his streaking was posted on YouTube which attracted more attention from schoolmates, with some even calling Mr Adamek a legend for having the courage to remove all his clothes and run naked on the campus. The video has been removed, but a newscast on the suicide was eventually posted which include clips of the streak.

On Oct 1, Principal Michael Campbell was quoted as saying that Mr Adamek's nude run was not a harmless prank, warning that "Public lewdness and court consequences outside of school with the legal system, as well as the school consequences that the school system has set up."

Twitter was flooded with messages of condolence to the family of the teen, while school officials released a statement saying it is sharing prayers with the Adamek family.

The other man, 24-year-old Donovan Dickson, jumped to his death at around 11:30 am from the George Washington Bridge on Oct 4 when investigators appeared at the Peddie School in Highstown to probe allegations that a teacher had sex with a student.

But it is unclear if the two incidents are related since authorities did not release the name of the involved teacher and no charges have been laid, but there are suspicions it could be Mr Dickson whose Facebook page shows him in photos posing with students of the co-ed private school.

Mr Dickson is from New Hampshire and taught Math at Peddie since 2011 as well as coached the boys' cross country, track and wrestling teams. He leapt from the south walkway of the bridge and did not land in the water, said Port Authority spokesman Joe Pentangelo.

After the incident, Peddie Headmaster Peter Quinn wrote to parents and students about the troubling events and met also with students.
