There is no pricing yet for both devices, although the pair is bigger than the Galaxy Note 2 which sports a 5.5-inch screen, making it bigger than a phone, but smaller than a tablet. Gizmondo said that given the specs, the Samsung Mega would like have a price lower than the Note 2.

Both gadgets will also have some of Samsung's new software such the Air View and Pop-Up Play.

"We are aware of a great potential in the bigger screen for extensive viewing multimedia, web browsing and more ... We are excited to provide another choice to meet our consumers' varying lifestyles, all while maintaining the high-quality features of the award-winning Galaxy series," Samsung Electronics CEO and Head of IT and Mobile Business JK Shin said in a statement.
