2008 Dunhill Fragrance Ad Leads Henry Cavill to ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ Film [PHOTOS AND VIDEO]
The upcoming "Fifty Shades of Grey" film has made another contender in bagging the male lead character of Christian Grey and British actor Henry Cavill owes it all to his old fragrance advertisement. The creators of the "Dunhill" fragrance advertisement were probably going for a "James Bond" theme but the fans of the novel were now comparing Cavill in the advertisement to the seductive and handsome billionaire Christian Grey.
The "Dunhill" fragrance advertisement back in 2008 showcases a helicopter soaring above the pristine England skyline with a dark-suited Henry Cavill walked on and stood on the helipad. Interestingly, "The Tudors" actor Henry Cavill's fragrance advertisement is not the only one that has attracted the attention of the "Fifty Shades of Grey" fans. It has been previously reported that "True Blood" actor Alexander Skarsgard's "Encounter" fragrance advertisement for Calvin Klein has also made several fans call out for him to get cast as Christian Grey.
While several fans are patiently waiting to see Henry Cavill as Superman in the anticipated upcoming "Man of Steel" movie, the 29-year old actor's past fragrance advertisement has brought him into the spotlight and created a buzz that wanted him to be cast as the male lead character in the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie.
Meanwhile, confirmed movie castings have not been announced just yet but there has been an on-going poll of the popular and rumored choices in portraying Christian Grey that includes Ian Somerhalder, Alexander Skarsgard, Matt Bomer, Ryan Gosling and Scott Elrod. According to reports, the film producers are still looking at this point for screenwriters for the film.
