Fulham FC boss Martin Jol is desperate to secure a win ahead of their match against Everton FC in the Capital One Cup.

"We need a win," Jol told capitalonecup.co.uk.

Fulham have lost three of their recent four games in the English Premier League and Jol would like to get back to winning ways immediately to boost the team's morale.

"We played three away matches in the first five in the league. That wasn't easy."

While Jol would like to field in a potent starting 11 against a tough Everton side, injuries to key players could hindrance such action.

Preferred striker Dimitar Berbatov's presence remains doubtful because of his hamstring injury.

The condition of Aaron Hughes (thigh) and Bryan Ruiz (ankle) needs to be evaluated, while goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg (shoulder) and Matthew Briggs (hernia) will not suit up for the Cottagers.

Meanwhile, Everton boss Roberto Martinez will try to rest some of his key players and give way to midfielder Darron Gibson and striker Romelu Lukaku who are set to make their comebacks after sustaining respective injuries.

"It is good we have extra time to recover from the league game but it is more from the West Ham game to the cup game that we have to take into consideration how players are," said Martinez.

"I'm quite pleased we have an extra few days to recover for the Newcastle game but clearly this squad for the Capital One Cup game will be based on the efforts of the previous two games."

Martinez understands the importance of each game, but he also recognises the need to keep fresh legs to be able to sustain and overcome a grueling season.

Nevertheless, he expects the a reliable performance from the players that he will be fielding in so as to elevate the level competitiveness among squad members.

Arouna Kone (knee), Steven Pienaar (muscle injury), and Leon Osmans (groin) injury status will have to be looked into ahead of the match.
