West Bromwich Albion FC boss Steve Clarke said that his side can be "dangerous underdogs" ahead of their 2013 Capital One Cup clash against Premier League giants Arsenal FC on Wednesday.

The Baggies are coming off a 3-0 win against Sunderland FC on Saturday in the English Premier League.

Stephane Sessegnon opened the scoring, followed by Liam Ridgewell, and Morgan Amalfitano at added-time.

West Brom has, so far, been inconsistent amassing only 5 points out of their five games in the Premier League that puts them only a point clear of the relegation zone.

Moving forward, Clarke believes that his team can build up its form from its recent two games and from the team's deep roster.

"We can be dangerous underdogs," Clarke told wba.co.uk.

"As a team the last two performances have been good. "At Fulham we rescued a point late on but the second half performance was good. Saturday's performance was solid, some good attacking play and some good moments. Another clean sheet which was good for us."

While Clarke admits that the game against Arsenal on home soil could be challenging, he is confident that he has a decent set of players who would want to get along with the action.

He stated that it is vital to "get the right mix" of players on Wednesday to come up with the win, as progressing in the tournament would benefit a "big squad" like his team.

Zoltán Gera and Ben Foster are injured and will not feature for West Brom, while Matej Vydra, Steven Reid and Shane Long are doubtful to suit up.

Meanwhile, Arsenal's form has been superb, winning all of their previous six games in the Premier League and the Champions League.

The only setback for the Gunners is the club's injury concerns. Tomas Rosicky, Yaya Sanogo, Vassiriki Abou Diaby, Lukas Podolski, Santiago Cazorla and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are all out, while Theo Walcott remains remains doubtful for Wednesday's match.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger might field-in a weaker team against the Hawthorns because of the said injury problems.
