2013 Grammy Nominations: Who's In & Who's Out? [PHOTOS]
This will be for sure another awesome night for 2012! Tonight at 8 p.m. PT/11 p.m. ET (10 p.m. CT), one of the biggest music events ever - the Grammy Nominations Concert - will take place at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenessee for the first time.
Of course, the event will sure to have butt-loads of awesome artists and not-so-awesome artists. It will be hosted by the 44-year-old rapper/actor, LL Cool J and the 22-year-old country singer, Taylor Swift.
The one-hour concert special will be having loads of awesome performances of the Band Perry and Dierks, Bentley, Lu Bryan, Maroon 5, FUN, Ne-yo and the rock legends, The Who.
Viral songs will be definitely in the Grammy's, like Carly Rae Jespen's "Call Me Maybe." The 27-year-old Canadian singer will be "so shocked" if she would be nominated however Carly Rae has practiced to do the opposite of shocked.
"But this year has taught me to look forward to surprises and just be ready for anything. So, cross your fingers for me," says Jepsen.
To be nominated, an artist must have released a song between October 1, 2011 and September 30, 2012. The three top albums of the year came after the period ended - Taylor Swift's "Red", One Direction's "Take Me Home", Jason Aldean's "Night Train." Also, Rihanna's "Unapologetic" did not make the cut. All these could have been nominated.
Also, one of the viral songs of 2012 is Goyte's "Somebody That I used To Know" featuring Kimbra should be nominated. Drake and The Black Keys has the possibility of being the top nominees.
One of the big music producers, Sea Garett is also slated to be a potential nominee for the Grammy Awards.
"It was sort of an iffy kind of year in my opinion, I'm going to be honest: I think the politics kind of slowed the music down," says Garett in a phone interview. The producer expects Jepsen, Bieber, Swift and Korean sensation, PSY to take home nominations.
