A total of five persons were injured in the 2013 Gun Shows held in the United States. Officials confirmed that the weapons accidentally went off last Saturday which caused the injury of three persons in North Carolina, one in Indiana and another one in Ohio.

The most severe shooting incident happened at the "Dixie Gun and Knife Show" in Raleigh, North Carolina where two onlookers got shot and a retired deputy sheriff suffered a hand injury. "A 12-gauge shotgun discharged as its owner unzipped its case for a law enforcement officer to check at a security entrance, injuring three people," Brian Long, state Agriculture Department spokesman, confirmed.

Gary Lynn Wilson, 36, owns the shotgun that accidentally discharged at the gun show where he is searching for a weapon consumer. Sheriff Donnie Harrison claimed that it is still early to determine whether Gary Wilson will be charged for bringing a loaded weapon on the state fairgrounds.

"The bird shot ended up injuring three people. One was a sheriff's deputy, who suffered a slight injury to his hand and was treated and released at a local hospital before returning immediately to work," Joel Keith, the North Carolina State Fair Chief of Police, revealed.

"A 54-year-old woman from Benson, North Carolina, was being treated for a wound to her right torso at a local hospital and a 50-year-old man from Durham, North Carolina, was treated for an injured left hand. I want to emphasize that this is an accident," Keith further told the reporters. The North Carolina two-day gun show was shut down early Saturday but resumed on Sunday.

In Indiana, a 54-year-old man leaving the gun show was injured when he accidentally shot himself. "Emory L. Cozee was loading his .45-caliber semi-automatic when he shot himself in the hand as he was leaving the Indy 1500 Gun and Knife show at the state fairgrounds," state police revealed. Emory Cozee was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment with no charges filed since the police confirmed the shooting incident was accidental.

Lastly, an unnamed male gun dealer in Ohio accidentally pulled the trigger and shot his friend while taking a look at the semi-automatic handgun at the gun show. "The gun's magazine had been removed from the firearm but one round remained in the chamber," police confirmed. "It appears the bullet ricocheted off the floor and struck the friend in the arm and leg. The man was taken by helicopter to a hospital 30 miles north in Cleveland," Police Chief Pat Berarducci stated.

The shooting incident could be sending a message since it all occurred at the same day where thousands of gun supporters calmly assembled to participate in the firmer gun sales and limits. It happened at the same time as well with President Barack Obama's federal gun control proposal after the horrible Connecticut elementary school shooting that killed 20 children and 6 staff members on December 14, 2012.
