The list of the nominees for the 2013 Logie Award is out, bringing a shocking list of contenders for Australia’s top-rated awards event for television.

Despite the decreasing ratings, MasterChef by Channel ten has been included in the list of nominees for this year’s Logie Awards; the name of Karl Stefanovic is nowhere to be found in any category while other interesting names have been part of the most shocking list of contenders Logie Awards have had as of yet.

Stefanovic’s missing out on Logies 2013 have created frenzy in the Twitterverse on Australia’s night for television, when the “most outstanding” personalities in Australian television are recognized for their contribution in the industry.

Joel Madden according to Herald Sun is considered a nominee that has brought a surprising turn of event for Logies this year. Nominated for the Most Popular New Male Talent, Madden is seen as one of the nominees that bring Logies in yet another controversial award event this year. The Logie Awards said Herald Sun has had a “fair amount of backlash for some of the surprise nominations” and this year is not an exception.

Madden’s nomination for the category has raised eyebrows since The Voice judge is not considered a “new talent.”

Australians took to Twitter to say what everyone could have had in mind following the revelations that Madden is nominated for the “most popular new talent,” award.

@dklewy09 : “Logies' cred plummets to new depths, with 'our' Joel Madden up for a gong. Fans of disposable music and KFC rejoice!"

Stefanovic has received no nominations this year also creating more questions for the list of the nominees. The Today Show host won the Gold Logie award in 2011 - - the highest award one could get from Logie - - and speculations on the integrity of the nominations this year have been raised a notch up following the Stefanovic-snub.

But co-host Ben Fordham reassured fans that Stefanovic was doing just fine this morning after news of his Logies snub broke.

The TV host’s partner on the show, Ben Fordham also took to Twitter to assure fans that Stefanovic has taken the snub very gracefully.

"If you're worried about @karlstefanovic not being nominated for a Logie.. Don't worry, he's doing fine", Fordham tweeted.

Winners of the 2013 Logie Awards will receive their trophies on the event scheduled on Sunday, April 7. Check out the full list of nominees here.
