The 2013 MTV Movie Awards will be hosted by Pitch Perfect star, Rebel Wilson. Without providing details, the Australian native comedienne promised “some pretty cool surprises” for the upcoming 2013 MTV Movie Awards. The 2013 MTV awards on April 14, Sunday is Wilson’s first real, big hosting gig. Will she wow the audience? Will she disappoint?

Here are the five things to know about Wilson giving you hint on how well (or worst) she could be as 2013 MTV Movie Awards host.

1. She’s downright hilarious.
You can tell what to expect from Aussie native and now the first time host for the exciting 2013 MTV Movie Awards if you had already seen Pitch Perfect. If you haven’t grab a copy and see Rebel’s antics that will give you hints on what to expect from the 26-year-old comedienne.

2. She’s got aces up her sleeve.
While Rebel has become a household name from Australia to Hollywood, the 27-year-old actress has a lot of achievements before she was chosen to host the 2013 MTV Movie Awards. She’s an actress, a writer, a stand-up comedienne, and director. She has done a lot of things in the entertainment industry like no other artists in their mid-twenties.

3. She’s a multi-awarded and nominated entertainer.
Rebel Wilson has been showing expertise in her craft from the moment she decided to set foot and face the camera. She won the elusive Tropfest Best Actress Award for her role in Bargain. Rebel’s iconic role as Fat Amy had earned her five nominations. Wilson admitted she would love, like any other artist, to earn an award.

“I would just love to win one award!” Wilson said in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly.

4. She had a promising non-entertainment, academic, pre-Hollywood life.
You’ll be surprised to know that Wilson was purely academic before she made the big leap to Hollywood.
"I was very academic at high school and was always good with numbers," Wilson was quoted as telling The Sydney Morning Herald.

She attended the University of New South Wales to study Law and Arts (Theater and Performance Studies). Wilson was also based in South Africa for a year as former Rotary International Youth Ambassador for Australia before she realized that she wanted to make other people happy with her comic skills. She then studied Australian Theatre for Young People and received a scholarship funded by Nicole Kidman in 2003.

5. She is nominated in two categories in the 2013 MTV Movie Awards.

The 2013 MTV Movie Awards is happening on Sunday, April 14, 2013. It will be aired on MTV at 9p.m.
