Recent news out of New York is that the combo of Carmelo Anthony and Andrea Bargnani is off to a good start. That pair will be put to test on Wednesday night when the Knicks face the Boston Celtics in a preseason game.

While the observation came from a Knicks scrimmage, it was still a good sign for New York as they need to establish chemistry, especially with the addition of players like Bargnani, who was acquired in a trade with the Toronto Raptors in the off-season.

"Me and 'B' had a great week, just playing together, spacing it out on the court, me trying to learn from him, him trying to learn from me, trying to see what spots he likes out there on the basketball court," Anthony told ESPNNewYork.com on Sunday after one of the New York practices. "For the most part, he's actually a smart player; he can play off people."

Meanwhile, the Celtics lost their preseason opener, 89-97, to the Raptors on Monday. Rookie head coach Brad Stevens made his NBA debut and quickly noted how different the pro game is compared to the NCAA.

“Really, really different just because it's a 48-minute game, something to get used to because of the timeouts," Stevens said in an Associated Press report via ESPN. "It's a little unique and different. There's eight more minutes (than college) and a lot more possessions because of the 24-second shot clock.

At 36 years old, Bradley is the youngest head coach in the NBA today, but his recent success with the Butler University programme in the college level was more than enough for him to be trusted by the Boston’s brass to handle their rebuilding program.

Avery Bradley, who is pegged to get the nod at the starting point guard spot until Rajon Rondo returns from injury, had 12 points, 3 assists and 3 steals for the Celtics.

Gerald Wallace top-scored with 16 points and Jared Sullinger added 14 points.

Game time is set at 9:30 am Australian Eastern Standard Time.
