The 2013-2014 NBA regular season is a few weeks away, but fans can’t wait to see their favorite teams take the hardwood. On Monday night, it’s Sacramento Kings’ supporters chance to see their squad for the first time this year as the Kings travel to Golden State to take on the Warriors.

This part of the year, the real war happens within the teams—as players battle for roster spots and key players fight for starting positions.

Game Preview: The Warriors will be playing in their second pre-season game after losing to the Los Angeles Lakers, 95-104, on the road on Saturday. Off-season acquisition Andre Iguodala immediately felt comfortable in his new role with his new team by top-scoring with 15 points.

Second year forward Harrison Barnes, who started with David Lee and Andrew Bogut in the frontcourt, added 10 points and 7 rebounds.

For the Kings, it is the start of a new era in Sacramento without the distraction of ownership troubles in the past few seasons. The Kings are also hoping for a fresh start for some of its players, particularly DeMarcus Cousins, who signed a max deal with the squad during the offseason. Can the talented but volatile center finally shed off his baggage of character issues and attitude problems?

Cousins averaged 16.3 points and 9.8 rebounds per game in his first three years with the Kings. Sacramento also acquired a few new faces in the Kings roster over the summer.

Point guard Greivis Vasquez was acquired in the sign-and-trade deal with New Orleans for the much-maligned guard Tyreke Evans. The Kings also acquired Ben McLemore from the draft and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute from another trade.
