2013 NFL Thanksgiving Day: Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions, Oakland Raiders vs. Dallas Cowboys [Game Preview]
No thanks to an injury to star quarterback Aaron Rogers; the Green Bay Packers have not won a game in November. They’ll get one last shot for a win this month when they face division rivals Detroit Lions in an all-important game that could very well decide who wins the NFC North.
The Dallas Cowboys have a lot to be grateful for; despite just a 6-5 win-loss card, they are tied for the top spot in the NFC East. They’ll be gifted an easy one on Thursday night too, going up against the lowly Oakland Raiders in the NFL’s Thanksgiving Day special.
The Packers are 0-3-1 and 0-4 against the spread in their last four games losing to the Chicago Bears, 27-20; Philadelphia Eagles, 27-13; New York Giants, 27-13; and settling for a tie with the Minnesota Vikings, 26-26.
The Lions wants to arrest their skid as well after back-to-back losses to the Pittsburgh Steelers, 37-27 and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 24-21 in their last two outings.
Meanwhile, the Cowboys have won two of their last three games. Another W against a one of the worst teams in the league in the Raiders will give them the temporary division lead over rivals Philadelphia Eagles, which faces the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
The Packers-Lions game kicks off at 3:30 am and the Raiders-Cowboys game at 7:30 am AEDT.
