2013 SAG Awards: The Trends and Red Carpet Fashion Moments [SLIDESHOW]
The 2013 SAG Awards proved to be a glitzy event especially with the designer creations that graced the red carpet. Who wore the best ones and who failed?
Black proved to be the number one choice for actresses when attending red carpet events.
Downton Abbey's Michelle Dockery made the name "Ralph Rucci" synonymous to Pucci's fame after walking down in a black creation that has a shear side panel that showed some skin. Anne Hathaway's black Giambattista Valli gown inspired mixed reactions from fans and fashion bloggers. Some say it looks dull, but most are claiming that the dress makes the Les Miserables actress look like a modern day Audrey Hepburn.
Another actress who went for the black dress is the victorious Homeland actress, Claire Danes. Danes arrived in a black Givenchy one shoulder piece and showed a taste for cutting edge fashion. Mixing it up is January Jones, who wore a black and white Prabal Gurung halter gown with sheer lining. Comedienne, Tina Fey, donned a black Oscar Dela Renta piece adorned with a metal empire waist belt that showed off her curves.
Fey's gown had a sweetheart neckline, another trend that's popular among celebrity stylists. Jessica Chastain also wore one, in a form of a red body-hugging Alexander McQueen dress.
Bold colors are usually not present in red carpet events, but Frieda Pinto surprised everyone in a shocking pink Roland Mourete gown.
Embellished gowns are still in, and there are several actresses who proved the timelessness of this style. Naomi Watts looked divine in a Marchesa silver embroidered gown, while Nicole Kidman stunned in a navy Vivenne Westwood dress. Both showed that the trend won't die out in red carpet events.
Kerry Washington particularly shone with her white embellished dress by Rodarte's Kate and Laura Mulleavy. It has a corset top and a billowing skirt that looked perfect for her body type.
