World No. 1 and top seed Rafael Nadal of Spain and fourth seed Andy Murray of Great Britain beat separate opponents on Monday to advance to the quarterfinal round of the men’s singles competition of the 2014 Australian Open.
The pair of victories assured that the top four seeded players remained intact at this point of the tournament in Melbourne as two—second seed Novak Djokovic of Serbia and third seed David Ferrer of Spain start their quarters campaign against Switzerland’s Stanislas Wawrinka and Czech Republic’s Tomas Berdych, respectively on Tuesday.

Berdych has yet to lose a set in this Australian Open winning in straight sets victory in his four matches. Ferrer has struggled sometimes but has nonetheless delivered the victory.
Prediction: Ferrer def. Berdych in five sets, 5-7, 7-5, 6-3, 3-6, 8-6

Wawrinka's pair of victories over the Serbian came way back in 2006. Since then Djokovic has taken 15 wins-- fourteen straight against the Swiss. However, Wawrinka came close twice in 2013 losing two matches in full five sets at the 2013 US Open and 2013 Australian Open.
Prediction: Another classic five-setter? Not this time, Djokovic is playing too well to start 2013 as the Serbian wins in straight sets, 7-5, 7-6 (5), 6-3.
