Opened and closed by Icon Award recipient Jennifer Lopez, the 2014 Billboard Music Awards was an absolute success with music’s biggest stars in attendance. Justin Timberlake went home as this year’s big winner with seven trophies including Top Male Artist and Top Artist award.

The only woman to ever receive the Icon Award, Jennifer Lopez joined the ranks of Stevie Wonder, Neil Diamond and Prince in the honorary group of music icons. The “American Idol” judge performed the official anthem of the 2014 FIFA World Cup song “We Are One” with Pitbull and Claudia Leitte, and closed the night’s ceremony with her speech as she received her award.

"All you little ones sitting on the living room floor, have faith, dream big, think big," said Lopez during her acceptance speech posted on E! Online. "And know that anything is possible, you never know where you might end up."

Imagine Dragons took home five awards out of 12 nominations, while Pharrell, Robin Thicke and T. I. scored four trophies each. New Zealand-born singer Lorde took home the Top New Artist award beating new comers including Bastille, Capital Cities, Ariana Grande and Passenger.

King of Pop Michael Jackson was featured on the show in a special halogram performance. Other performers include queen of twerk Miley Cyrus and Flaming Dragons, OneRepublic, Katy Perry and Iggy Azalea and Ariana Grande.

Hosted by rapper/actor Ludacris, the 2014 BBMA was aired live on ABC from the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.
