Novak Djokovic of Serbia is a regular at this point of any tournament while Marcel Raonic of Canada is in unfamiliar territory when the pair meets in the quarterfinals of the men’s singles competition of the 2014 French Open.

The 27-year-old Serbian is, as expected on the top of his game losing just one set so far on the way to the final eight in the clay court championship in Paris.

Djokovic’s most recent win is the embarrassment of Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4, 6-1. The second seed beat Joao Sousa (Portugal) in the first round, 6-1, 6-2, 6-4; Jeremy Chardy (France) in the second, 6-1, 6-4, 6-2; and Marin Cilic (Croatia) in the third, 6-3, 6-2, 6-7 (2), 6-4.

Meanwhile, the 23-year-old Canadian became the first player from his country to reach the final eight of any Grand Slam after his defeat of Marcel Granollers (ESP), 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 in the fourth round. In earlier rounds, Raonic beat Nick Kyrgios (Australia), 6-3, 7-6 (1), 6-3 and Jiri Vesely (Czech Republic), 7-6 (4), 6-4, 6-1. He survived a five-setter against Gilles Simon (France), 4-6, 6-3, 2-6, 6-2, 7-5 in the third round.

This is the third meeting between the quarterfinalists. Not surprisingly, Djokovic has the edge, 2-0 but Raonic was more than competitive in the most recent meeting. The former world number one beat Raonic, 6-7 (5), 7-6 (4), 6-3 in the semifinals of the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 in Rome, Italy just this May.

Raonic is a huge underdog entering the match and priced at 8.50 to pull off the upset while Djokovic is at 1.05. The latter is also pegged at -5.5 games to win the handicap betting.
