2014 MLB Postseason: Kansas City Royals 8, Baltimore Orioles 6 in ALCS Game 1
Major League Baseball's (MLB) American League Championship Series (ALCS) opened Friday night as the Kansas City Royals visited the Baltimore Orioles in Game 1 of their best-of-seven series.
It was the visitors who scored first in the series with four runs in at the top of the 3rd inning while the home team scored one run. The Orioles responded in the 5th and 6th innings and the tied the game at 5-5. In the 10th inning, Alex Gordon hit a homerun and Mike Moustaskas sent two runners in as the Royals built an 8-to-5 lead
The Orioles tried to rally at the bottom of the 10th but they could only afford a single home run from Delmon Young for the final score, 8-6.
Game 2 of the Royals vs. Orioles series is set on Saturday in Baltimore where the Orioles try to tie the series before the best-of-seven shifts to Kansas City for the next two games.
