#BeatDuke was the popular hashtag before the Mercer Bears took on the Duke Blue Devils. Not only it is viral now but also a reality after Mercer defeated Duke, 78-71 in the Round of 64 of the 2014 NCAA Tournament.

Surprisingly, it was the Bears who shot the ball better despite playing with a pro-Duke crowd. Jakob Gollon top-scored for Mercer with 20 points and four others scored in double-figures.

Duke hit 15 three-pointers in this one but collapsed inside the final five minutes of the game. They had a five-point lead with 4:53 to go but Mercer unleashed a 20-8 run to end the game.
