The internet is a daunting place filled with so many death hoaxes that fooled thousands of people just to gain traffic for their website. Hollywood celebrities are the usual victims of these death hoaxes that ranges from car accidents to sporting accidents, and naive fans of these stars often fell for these type of news.
Here are some of the primetime TV personality death hoaxes victims.
Charlie Hunnam
The latest victim of internet death hoax, "Sons of Anarchy" Charlie Hunnam was reported dead on June 16, Monday, via a Facebook page that reads: "R.I.P. Charlie Hunnam." The fake Facebook page garnered nearly one million of "likes" after the news broke on the social media sites. The death claim was backed by credible account by the British actor's passing as well as a complete description of the time of death and invited condolences.
The Facebook page reads: "At about 11 a.m. ET on Monday (June 16, 2014), our beloved actor Charlie Hunnam passed away. Charlie Hunnam was born on April 10, 1980 in Newcastle upon Tyne. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page."
Norman Reedus
"Walking Dead" lead star Norman Reedus is no stranger for hoaxes because before his fake death it was falsely reported that he was fired from the hit zombie series. Epoch Times reported on June 1 confirming that the actor is alive and well, and did not die on a car accident. The link of Facebook and Twitter posts reads: "Norman Reedus was confirmed dead at 8.30 AM this morning. His motor crashed into..."
Wayne Knight
The tragic death news hit the web on March 16 claiming that "Seinfeld's" Wayne Knight died in a car crash on Route 446 that involved his Mercedes that crashed into a tractor-trailer near the Pennsylvania-New York state line. Known as Jerry Seinfeld's arch rival, Newman, Knight dissed the death hoax report through his Twitter account that reads: "Some of you will be glad to hear this, others strangely disappointed, but . . .I am alive and well!"
"Does someone have to DIE to trend? Geez! Thanks for all the love everybody. I didn't know you cared. Glad to be breathing!" he added.
