The 2014 Golden Globe Awards weren't even a week ago, but stars in Tinseltown are prepping up once again for another prestigious award for this year. The 2014 SAG Awards honors excellence in movies and television live from the Shrine Exposition Hall in Los Angeles at 5 P.M. PST/8 P.M EST on TBS and TNT, January 18, Saturday.

This is the time of the year where actors vote for fellow actors. SAG members are known to have more sway in determining the upcoming Academy Awards winners with its more than 165,000 members. The 20th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will be streaming its live coverage here.

For this year top nominees, Steve McQueen's '12 Years a Slave' is leading the pack with four nominations including Ensemble Cast. 'August: Osage County,' 'Dallas Buyers Club' and 'Lee Daniels' The Butler' got three nods each. Alexander Payne's black & white road film 'Nebraska,' David O. Russell's ADSCAM comedy 'American Hustle' and Paul Greengrass' pirate movie 'Captain Philips' gained two nominations each.

AMC's 'Breaking Bad,' HBO's Boardwalk Empire' and Showtime's 'Homeland' led the way for SAG's TV nominations. Netflix also scored several nominations for 'House of Cards' and 'Arrested Development.' Other shows for comedy nomination includes 'Modern Family,' 'The Big Bang Theory' and '30 Rock.'

Unlike any other awards, SAG awards offer a more collegiate atmosphere where winners expressing their utmost gratitude for an honor chosen by their peers. SAG winners can use the opportunity to get support for the Academy Awards.

Martin Scorsese's 'Wolf of Wall Street' surprisingly did not make the cut for this year SAG awards, and so as Matthew Weiner's period drama 'Mad Men.' 'Lee Daniel's The Butler' was snubbed in the Golden Globes but gaining a lot of support in SAG where lead star Forest Whitaker was nominated for Best Actor.

Among the nominees for Saturday night includes Matthew McConaughey ('Dalls Buyers Club'), Tom Hanks ('Captain Philips'), Bruce Dern ('Nebraska'), Emma Thompson ('Saving Mr. Banks'), Meryl Streep ('August: Osage County'), Cate Blanchett ('Blue Jasmine') and James Gandolfini is his supporting role in 'Enough Said.'
