2014 Sundance Film Festival: Stars Flock to Park City, Utah Including Keira Knightley and Aaron Paul

The 2014 Sundance Film Festival which ran from Thursday, Jan. 16 up to Sunday, Jan 26, 2014 was attended by a lot of Hollywood stars who flocked to Park City, Utah including Keira Knightley and Aaron Paul. Other stars who were seen at Robert Redford's fim festival were Anne Hathaway, Harry Styles, Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Zach Braff, Kate Hudson, Sam Rockwell, Kristen Stewart, Robert de Niro, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Chloe Moretz and Willem Dafoe.

The film "Whiplash" directed by Damien Chazelle opened the 2014 Sundance Film Festival and it closed with William H. Macy's musical drama "Rudderless." Other films included in the film festival are Peter Sattler's "Camp X-Ray," "Fishing Without Nets," "Cold in July," "Dear White People ," "Hellion," "Happy Christmas," "God's Pocket," "Jamie Marks is Dead," "Kumiko, the Treasure Hunter," "Infinitely Polar Bear," "Low Down," "Song One," "Life After Beth," "The Sleepwalker" and "The Skeleton Twins." These films are just the ones under the U.S. Dramatic films category. "Whiplash" won both the 2014 Sundance Film Festival jury and audience awards for this particular category of films.

There were also 16 films under the U.S. Documentary category including "Dinosaur 13" by Todd Miller which served as the opening film, "Alive Inside: A Story of Music & Memory" and "The Internet's Own Boy: The Story of Aaron Swartz."

The documentary "Rich Hill" won the jury award for US documentary and "Alive Inside: A Story of Music & Memory" won the audience award.

Aside from the movies under the U.S. Dramatic and U.S. Documentary categories, there were also movies under the categories of World Cinema Documentary (12 films) including "20,000 Days On Earth" and "SEPIDEH - Reaching for the Stars" and World Cinema Dramatic (12 films) including "Lilting," "God Help the Girl" and "To Kill a Man."

Australian director Sophie Hyde won the World Cinema Dramatic directing award for the film "52 Tuesdays."

The rest of the film categories at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival are Short Films (66) which include USA Narrative Short Films such as "The End of Eating Everything," International Narrative Short Films like "Metube: August Sings Carmen (Habanera)" from Austria, Documentary Short Films and Animated Short Films.

Films that weren't part of the competition also premiered at the 30th Sundance Film Festival including "Love Is Strange" and "The Raid 2: Berandal." The 2014 Sundance Film Festival awards ceremony was held at the Basin Recreation Fieldhouse in Park City, Utah and was hosted by actors Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman.
