The 43rd Daytime Emmys pre-nomination selections have been released and fans are excited to see who would take home this year’s set of prestigious awards.

Ten prospective contenders in six categories have been narrowed down with a round of balloting by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The Daytime Emmy pre-selection categories include outstanding lead actress and actor in a drama series, outstanding supporting actress and actor in a drama series and outstanding younger actress and actor in a drama series.

The final nominees will be announced March 24, prior to daytime drama’s biggest night on Sunday, May 1.

Maura West, who was named Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series last year, faces off with her “General Hospital” co-stars Finola Hughes and Laura Wright. “The Young and the Restless” garnered the most number of selections in this category with four actresses. “Days of Our Lives,” on the other hand, got three.

“The Young and the Restless” also have the most number of pre-selected contenders in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series with five actors. “Days of Our Lives” and “The Bold and the Beautiful” each got one pre-selection nominee. “General Hospital” has three contenders in the category, including last year’s winner Anthony Geary.

In the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series category, last year’s winner Amelia Heinle squares off with four of her co-stars from “The Young and the Restless.” “Days of our Lives” got four pre-selection nominees in this category, while “The Bold and the Beautiful” had one.

With four pre-selected contenders in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama series category, “The Young and the Restless” once again has the most number of representatives. The three other daytime shows each have two selections each. Last year’s winner Chad Duell from “General Hospital” was not nominated this year.
